- Use the smaller size one for shading small areas or add fine details
- Use the larger size to create a transition of tones in large areas due to their wide surfaces Subtly "lift up" graphite using a clean stump by tapping lightly on the drawing
- Swirl tip in a kneaded eraser or use sandpaper to clean it
- Re-sharpen tip with sandpaper too.
- (NOTE: Never use unprotected fingers to blend graphite. the natural oil in your skin will cause graphite to stick to your paper in irregular patches.)
